Hacienda Siesta Alegre is a rustic wedding venue and bed and breakfast nested in the El Yunque Rainforest of Puerto Rico. Known as one of the top destination wedding and event venues on the island, their website reflected the opposite.
The site structure was clunky, the information sparse, website sizing did not reflect modern size requirements, nor was it mobile responsive. Image carousels that displayed the stunning venue were small and sparse, making it difficult to understand what the venue looks like, a pain point for destination wedding couples. Furthermore, the overall branding, style, and images featured were outdated and did not reflect modern wedding trends. There was no information about more intimate wedding celebrations which was a top searched quary in 2020 due to COVID 19 restrictions.

First, I created a new simple logo and brand identity for Hacienda Siesta Alegre that conveyed the magical rustic charm but in a much cleaner way. Nothing crazy, just something more polished, elegant, and updated. To create the site structure and navigation, I compiled a list of everything I would need to know about a venue as a bride. I also considered resources that wedding planners and other vendors would need to know and ensured all of this information was included and easily accessible when creating the sitemap.
I designed the new website to highlight the amazing photography available from past wedding photographers, and utilized soft edges and round CTAs to represent the soft mountainous views of the ceremony space. I applied a bohemian style filter on all images to create cohesiveness across photography styles, and chose stylish fonts that had a rustic, Spanish charm. The tropical neutral color palette created a clean slate for any bride to visualize their unique celebration in the space. The end result was a fresh website that still reflected the uniqueness of Hacienda Siesta Alegre, while providing users with all of the information they need in order to increase conversions.
