Romantic Destination

Wedding Invitation Suite

I was BEYOND excited to design my own destination wedding invitations for our upcoming wedding in San Juan, Puerto Rico! For a destination wedding, it's incredibly important to include all of the important information your guests will need to know for not only the wedding day, but the weekend activities, hotel, and travel information. At the same time, you walk a fine line of overwhelming your guests if you provide too much detail or too many inserts since it is also key to create excitement and set the tone for the entire experience.

I began the design process by making a mood board to establish our wedding theme. I was very picky about establishing the font choice and colors to ensure they perfectly reflected our tropical romantic wedding theme without looking too formal. I created the primary wedding invitation first to find a balance of traditional and on-trend design elements. These started out by including the floral elements in each invitation, and I worked to simplify in order to give them an understated elegance almost similar to letterpress designs. These were then digitally printed on a thick cream card stock with torn edges to further drive home that romantic feel. Each insert stacked to fit into an organized invitation pocket folder. The coral folder added a fun and unexpected bright accent to the muted invitations, and the coral hand lettered envelopes added excitement.

Upon completing the invitation suite, I designed a customized wedding website that utilized the same branding themes, and added even more detail for our guests. The website included detailed information about wedding transportation, flight information, attire specifics, weekend events, and other recommended hotel ideas in the area. I scoured the island to find restaurants and attractions our guests could enjoy during their stay, and added a page to house all of this information. The website will be the perfect tool for our guests to access everything they need to know about their trip before and also throughout their stay.
